The Champions knew that their end was immanent, and the visceral fear they must have felt as they sent out this final message is devastating. If true, this is truly tragic, as players of Breath of the Wild will know that this message was not received by anyone. On the online video game forum Reset Era, member Jadow expressed his astonishment that, hidden within each of the Divine Beast’s theme tunes, the Morse code SOS signal can be heard playing, as recorded and stitched together by Tristan Cooper. It has transpired that the Champions of Hyrule may have in fact sent out one final plea for aid before their untimely end. Unfortunately, though, during the Great Calamity the four Champions of Hyrule were defeated by Ganon, leaving the Kingdom vulnerable. It is unique and special for each champion.
In the memories uncovered as Links quests through Hyrule during Breath of the Wild, the bond between the Champions and their Beasts is unfurled to the player. The Divine Beasts, and their Champion pilots, were instrumental in Hyrule’s fight against Ganon.
